Background
The Graduate Program in Food Studies is a new initiative of the School of History & Politics in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This School previously offered the Le Cordon Bleu Graduate Program in Gastronomy, which terminated in 2010.
The Graduate Program in Food Studies will continue to focus on the history and culture of food and drink in a global context, but with completely new courses based on the most recent scholarship in a completely new structure.
Although the new Program does not include a research dissertation, the list of dissertations completed as part of the Graduate Program in Gastronomy and the brief notes on some of its graduates of this program will serve as a guide to the scope of the Graduate Program in Food Studies.
