Nutrient Gene Interactions
Key scientists:
Evidence is emerging that nutritional insults in pregnancy and early life can affect specific genes to predispose progeny to greater health risks later in life. The changes seem semi-permanent and can take 2-3 generations to restore the genome. We are investigating both the genes that are affected by nutritional supply and most importantly, how effect of one nutrient might be reversed by another.
