Short Programs

There are so many options for students who wish to take a short program overseas to complement their studies and knock out an elective or two of their degree! Have a look below to find some examples and suggestions that might suit you.

  • International Summer and Winter Schools

International Summer and Winter Schools are short study sessions offered by overseas institutions, where you can take intensive courses for credit across a variety of disciplines in Summer or Winter School.

Choose from their suite of programs, and they'll take care of the arrangements for you (inclusions vary). Providers may offer internships, placements, volunteer opportunities, and study abroad programs.

Completing an overseas internship can give you an edge when you're ready to start your career. Internship organisations have the industry connections needed to set you up with your overseas opportunity. Alternatively, you can arrange your own internship. Check with your academic area to find out if an internship can be credited to your degree!

      • Sciences (some areas)

If you are in this situation, you may still be able to obtain University travel insurance if your experience is endorsed by your Head of School. Provide your Head of School approval in the Global Learning Application System, and you're set!
