ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER EMPLOYMENT STRATEGY ADVISORY AND MONITORING COMMITTEE

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2010-2013 outlines the University’s commitment to the development and implementation of its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy.

Clause 7.6.2 of the Agreement outlines that an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy Advisory and Monitoring Committee will be established with representation from the following:

  1. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (as Chair)
  2. An Executive Dean;
  3. Dean, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education: Wilto Yerlo
  4. Two Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff members nominated and elected from that cohort of staff.

The committee will:

  1. Act as an advisory and consultative committee and will monitor and provide advice on the implementation of the Strategy.
  2. Provide advice and recommendations on developing the Strategy document.
  3. Play a role in the regular review of the Strategy.
  4. Provide recommendation on how best to allocate the Strategy funding.
  5. Consult with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff members and members of a Community Liaison Network regarding changes to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy.

Accordingly, nominations are now called from any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander staff member for election to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy Advisory and Monitoring Committee for a term of two years.

Nominations must reach the Returning Officer by the close of nominations.  Nominations received after the date and time set for the close of nominations shall be invalid. A nomination may be forwarded by facsimile or email, provided the original nomination form is sent in the post.

Nominations close and must be with the Returning Officer by 1 June at 12 noon.
