Attention all APA (Industry) Recipients and Supervisors



It has just come to our attention that the stipend for APA (I) holders has increased for 2006 from the previously advised stipend.  Please note the changes are as follows:

For projects that commenced in 2004 and earlier: $24,851pa (full-time)

For projects that commenced in 2005 and 2006: $25,118 pa (full-time)

Due to the volume of students that this change will effect, arrangements for backpay effective from 1 January 2006 will be made to adjust any full stipends and any supplementary scholarship indexed to APA (I) rates as soon as possible.

2006 Prime Minister's Prizes for Science



Nominations are now open for the 2006 Prime Minister's Prizes for Science. The closing date for nominations is Friday 19 May 2006

Nominations are being sought for any of the following five prestigious awards:
 

  •    Prime Minister's Prize for Science $300,000
  •    Science Minister's Prize for Life Scientist of the Year $50,000 
  •    Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year $50,000 
  •    Prime Minister's Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Primary Schools  $50,000
  •    Prime Minister's Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Secondary Schools $50,000
