Postgraduate Scholarships
2007 Fulbright Program

The Fulbright Program seeks to promote and increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and Australia through two way cultural and educational exchange. Grants are awarded to Australian students, scholars and professionals to study, teach, lecture and conduct research in the United States.

This year, 3 Senior Scholar Awards, 5 Professional Awards, 1 Postdoctoral Award and 13 Postgraduate Awards will be open to applicants from all fields of study.

The competition opens on June 1 and closes on August 31 2006. Application forms and further information can be obtained from: http://www.fulbright.com.au.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships for 2007

An information session on how to apply for research scholarships for study in 2007 is going to be held on 31 August at 12:30pm in Napier 102.  The session will go for approximately 20 minutes with the opportunity for questions after.  The information provided will be focussing on scholarships available to local students and is designed for current Honours students or other qualified appl-cants who are considering undertaking a research degree in 2007.  The information provided will be the same as that provided at Open Night - this is a chance for anyone who missed that night but is interested in doing a research degree to get more information.  Please register your interest by emailing Susan Western at susan.western@adelaide.edu.au by 28 August.

Rhodes  Scholarships 2007

Applications are currently being accepted for Rhodes Scholarships to study at the University of Oxford in 2007.  Application forms and instructions are available from the Adelaide Graduate Centre. Any requests for copies of these documents should be addressed to Ms Pamela Cook (pamela.cook@adelaide.edu.au).  Applications close with the Honorary Secretary on September 1, 2006. 2006 B-HERT Awards 

Applications are closing soon for the 2006 B-HERT Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Collaboration in Research & Development and Education & Training.

Winners will be announced by the Hon Julie Bishop, Minister for Education, Science and Training at the B-HERT Awards Dinner on Tuesday, 14 November 2006, in Melbourne. 

Closing 31 August 2006. 

General Sir John Monash Awards 2007 

Applications for the General Sir John Monash Awards 2007 Awards are now open. The closing date is 31 August 2006.

The Awards offer up to $150,000 over three years for postgraduate studies (PhD, DPhil or professional Master's Degree) at any of the best universities overseas.

Only eight Awards are made each year to Australian citizens adjudged to have outstanding academic achievement, community consciousness and service and leadership potential in their field and the community. The Monash Foundation expects Award winners to make a significant contribution to the future development of Australia.

There is no restriction on the age of applicants or the fields of study.
