Postgraduate Research Student Insurance 2009

Travel Insurance

Previously, PhD students undertaking field work outside Australia for periods longer than the 180 days allowed for under the University Corporate Travel program, were required to purchase additional travel insurance to cover the remainder of their travel period. This was costly and caused some students financial hardship.

For the current policy year the University has been able to negotiate with the University Corporate Travel insurer a deal that provides a full year of travel insurance for PhD students on study programs or field research outside Australia.

If you are intending to be outside Australia undertaking study/fieldwork in excess of 180 days, please contact Mr Bob Reilly, Manager Risk and Insurance, to discuss.
