Postgraduate Research Induction – Semester 2, 2008The Adelaide Graduate Centre’s next Induction Program will be held on Friday, 25 July 2008. The Induction, which is compulsory for all commencing PhD and Masters by Research students, provides a valuable orientation to life as a research student at The University of Adelaide. and within 6 months of completion of research candidature (whichever is sooner). The Graduate Certificate in Commercialisation will require students to complete the following four courses offered by ECIC:

or Scholarship applications are available from the http://www.adelaide.edu.au/graduatecentre/scholarships/postgrad/pgcurrent.html Future Research Leaders ProgramCommencement & Collaboration: putting ideas into practiceThe next workshop in the Future Resesarch Leaders Program is to be held on Tuesday 14th May, 12.30 - 5.00pm, in the seminar room of the Adelaide Graduate Centre, Level 6, 115 Grenfell St. The workshop will be dealing with Module 2 of the program, Commencement & Collaboration: putting ideas into practice. This module explores the start up of a research project, giving you the opportunity to put your ideas into practice. It aims to illustrate approaches that can be applied to projects regardless of discipline or scope. Staff who enrol in the module will need to work through the online material before attending the workshop. Approximately 75- 80% of Fulbright Postgraduate Scholars are now undertaking research towards to their Australian PhD. The benefits to the Fulbright Scholars and their Australian university include:
It provides easy and cost effective access to U.S. research institutions – Scholars are welcomed as Visiting Research Fellows. Fulbright Scholars undertaking research do not
Scholars arrange affiliation through personal approaches to U.S. researchers, or links their supervisors or universities have with U.S. universities. This also provides the opportunity for Australian universities and research groups to establish or enhance their collaborative links in the United States. There are a range of selection criteria for Fulbright Scholarships, of which academic merit is but one. While first class honours is common amongst scholars, Fulbrights have also been granted to second class honours applicants. Applications for the 2009 Fulbright Scholarships close 31 August 2008. Scholars can commence their Fulbright program any time between 1 July 2009 and the 30 June 2010. AusAID's Australian Leadership Award Scholarship Intake for 2009Applications are considered annually on a regionally competitive basis. Selection is based on leadership qualities and academic merit.
