Postgraduate Research Induction – 24 July 2009
The Adelaide Graduate Centre’s next Induction Program will be held on Friday, 24 July 2009. The Induction, which is compulsory for all commencing PhD and Masters by Research students, provides a valuable orientation to life as a research student at The University of Adelaide.

The Prime Minister's Australia Asia Endeavour Awards
The Prime Minister's Australia Asia Endeavour Awards, will provide scholarships for the best and brightest university students from Australia and Asia. Forty scholarships will be awarded annually, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, valued at up to $43,000 and $68,500 respectively. The scholarships will allow Australian students to undertake study with an internship or work placement in Asia. Ten scholarships will also be awarded to the top international Endeavour Awards scholars from Asia each year.

Getting started with Reviewing Literature

Strategies and tips for getting organised and managing the process of locating the relevant literature, reviewing it with a critical eye and presenting the resulting critique in an appropriate document.

Future Research Leaders Program
The Future Research Leaders program has been developed collaboratively by the Go8 universities, and is delivered in full each semester for the benefit of the research community of the University of Adelaide. The program is aimed at current and aspiring research leaders, and seeks to build a range of skills and knowledge critical to successful research leadership and management.
There are eight modules in the program, together with a researcher orientation module. Modules are undertaken by a combination of online study, independent research and a face-to-face workshop. Do just one module, or do as many as you like. Its up to you. And its all free!

Exploring Supervision Program
The Exploring Supervision program (formerly the Effective Supervision program) provides professional development for HDR supervisors. Each semester we present a series of three interactive workshops, together with a range of tools, techniques and resources, covering key topics in HDR supervision. In addition, completion of the full module of the program leads to registration as a principal HDR supervisor.

ABRS Bursaries and 2009 Ph.D. Research Supplement
The 2009 ABRS bursaries and Ph.D. research supplement round is NOW OPEN
Applications close 15 May 2009
Bursaries
ABRS offers small grants to honours, masters and Ph.D. students in Australian institutions who wish to travel to national or international conferences relevant to both the students research program in taxonomy or systematics and ABRS Research Priorities. A maximum of $1000 is available for an international conference and $500 for travel within Australia from 16 May 2009 to 15 May 2010. Up to $10 000 in total is available each year for these awards.
One-off research supplement
ABRS will offer two $5000 grants for Ph.D. students to provide additional research support for a project requiring taxonomy or systematics analysis. The students research project must address the ABRS Research Priorities. This grant is for Ph.D. students with at least one year remaining on their projects and who wish to apply for supplement funding before 30 June 2009.
