2009 Annual Review of Progress Gannt Chart or Completion Plan
Students are reminded that they must attach a Gantt Chart or a Completion Plan to your 2009 Annual Review of Progress. Annual Reviews without a Chart or Plan cannot be approved and may delay your 2010 re-enrolment.
Core Component of the Structured Program and Research Proposal
Students are requested to bulldog clip pages of the Core Component of the Structured Program form, the research proposal and any other attachments instead of ring or glue binding them. As the University is moving towards electronic filing this will enhance the electronic presentation of documents and forms.
Workshops for Higher Degree by Research Candidates
Preparing and Presenting Seminars
Preparation of effective visual materials, logical organisation of information and self-presentation skills for the oral presentation of academic research.

HDR students and early career researchers (limit 30 participants)
On Being Supervised
A good relationship between HDR candidates and their supervisors is one of the keys to a successful research degree. This workshop explores ways in which HDR candidates can establish and maintain clarity in the supervision relationship during the course of their degrees.

The Australian Climate Change Adaptation Research Network for Settlements and Infrastructure
The Australian Climate Change Adaptation Research Network for Settlements and Infrastructure is hosting its second National Forum and Workshop to bring together research students in the field of climate change adaptation for settlements and infrastructure.

Channel 9 Young Achiever Awards - Nominations Now Open
If you know a young person who is making a valuable contribution in one of the nine category areas then I encourage you to put in a nomination.
The Awards aim to recognise South Australia's young achievers who are making a difference in their communities.
Nominations will be sought throughout South Australia until the 2nd December in the following categories:
- RAA Driving Force Leadership Award
- The University of Adelaide Faculty of Sciences Science and Technology Award
- The Coffee Club Arts Award
- Rural Doctors Workforce Agency Rural Health Award
- Nippy's Environment Award
- Coles Regional Initiative Award
- Adelaide Airport Limited Community Leadership Award
- Worldwide Online Printing Sports Award
- Office for Youth Outstanding Young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Achiever Award
The Awards will culminate at a Gala Presentation Dinner on Saturday 13th March 2010 to be held at Hilton Adelaide.
Each category winner will receive a $1,000 prize grant from HomeStart Finance and a magnificent trophy. One of the nine category winners will also be chosen as the Premier's Young Achiever of the Year and will receive an additional $1,000 and a fabulous holiday for two provided by Hilton Hotels and Virgin Blue (conditions apply).

BioSA 2010 Bioscience Achievement Awards – Nominations Now Open!
Bio Innovation SA (BioSA) invites you to apply for the 2010 Bioscience Achievement Awards.
These Awards recognise individuals involved in the South Australian bioscience community who have made an important contribution to the development of South Australia’s bioscience sector.
Award Categories
- Young Achiever – for individuals under 35*, who have made a significant contribution to his or her company / organisation
- Industry Leader – for individuals who have made a significant impact to the growth and development of his or her company / organisation and/or to the South Australian bioscience industry
* Individuals aged over 35 may be considered under this category, taking into account family-related or other special circumstances.
The Awards are open to individuals working in the all fields of the bioscience sector including biotechnology, medical devices and environmental science, as well as venture capital and business consultants focusing on the life sciences.
Award Prizes
- BioSA Young Achiever
One winner will be awarded in this category prize money to the value of $10,000. - BioSA Industry Leader
One winner will be awarded in this category prize money to the value of $10,000.

ACPFG Summer Scholarship
The Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics (ACPFG) offers summer scholarships to undergraduate students who are interested in a career in Agri-biotech.
Summer Scholars Receive $250 Tax free per week for 6 to 8 weeks, as well relevant industry experience and the opportunity to network and make valuable industry contacts.
Scholarships run for six to eight weeks from December to March. Scholarship start dates can be negotiated with your supervisor.
