2007 Annual Review of Progress

With the exception of students who commence in August, September or October this year, all research students, including those currently on leave of absence, are required to complete the 2007 Annual Review of Progress.

Please note it is your responsibility to ensure that your Annual Review is submitted to the Graduate Centre by the due date of 31 October 2007. If you have not received a Review package please contact the Graduate Centre immediately so that a package can be forwarded to you.

You should make an appointment with your supervisor(s) to discuss your progress and another with your Postgraduate Coordinator, or Head of School/Discipline (which your supervisor(s) may wish to attend) for a few days later. After your supervisor(s) and Postgraduate Coordinator or Head of School/Discipline have discussed your progress with you and all parties have completed the relevant sections of the form, you should sign the form and lodge it with the Graduate Centre.

The Graduate Centre sent Annual Review packages to students’ mailing addresses (or home address where no mailing address has been specified). Please check that your mailing address details are current. You can view and, if necessary, update your address details by logging on to Access Adelaide at: https://access.adelaide.edu.au/sa/login.asp


Postgraduate Admission/Scholarship

Scholarship and admission application forms for 2007 are now available. They can be accessed via the Graduate Centre website or in hard copy from the Student Centre or the Graduate Centre.

Over 200 research scholarships will be available for study commencing in 2007. Information is available on sourcing scholarship opportunities, closing dates, how to apply, the value of awards, eligibility, travel opportunities and much more.

The minimum qualification for a scholarship in most disciplines at the University if Adelaide is Honours 2A.

Please note that Scholarship applications and referee reports will be accepted until 5:00pm Wednesday 31 October 2007.

December 2007 Graduations

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS
If you expect to complete your studies at the end of second semester 2007 and you wish to graduate in the December 2007 graduation ceremonies, you should apply to graduate NOW!

The deadline to apply online via Access Adelaide is 5:00pm on Friday, 26 October 2007.

If you cannot remember your password for Access Adelaide or you experience problems logging in, please contact the Student Centre.

Leukamemia Foundation National Research Program 2008

The Leukaemia Foundation is pleased to remind candidates that applications for PhD and Honours Scholarships in our National Research Program for 2008 are currently open. Applications for scholarships close on September 28 in 2007

The Leukaemia Foundation is a national not-for-profit foundation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and related blood cancers and disorders. Through its National Research Program, the Foundation seeks to foster innovative research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of these cancers, and the care of patients and families. The program includes grants for research projects, in addition to scholarships and fellowships to foster the careers of talented young scientists. The final number of grants, fellowships and scholarships will depend upon available research funds.

Applications to the following programs are now open:

Scholarship Program

PhD Scholarships
Up to four PhD scholarships each with a total value of $40,000 ($25,000 stipend and $15,000 consumables) may be offered in 2008.

Honours Year Scholarships
Up to four Honours scholarship will be offered to students undertaking an Honours year research project in 2008. Each scholarship has a total value of $10,000 ($5,000 stipend and $5,000 consumables).
