Annual Review of Progress - Are you Late?
A reminder that all outstanding Annual Reviews of Progress were due to be submitted to the Adelaide Graduate Centre by 31 October 2007.
If you have missed the deadline, please get your Principal Supervisor to contact the Adelaide Graduate Centre as soon as possible on 8303 5882 or by email to graduate.centre@adelaide.edu.au to discuss the possibility of an extension.
Please be aware your enrolment for 2008 and the continuation of any scholarship you are in receipt of will not be processed if you do not submit your annual review by the end of November, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Graduate Centre. Graduating Students Please Note:
In order to Graduate in the December Ceremony (providing you have applied to Graduate and received an "Outcome of thesis Examination" letter), the Graduate Centre requires three hard bound amended copies of your thesis and, if required, an ADTP electronic copy on CD along with the "Confirmation of Amendments proforma" to be lodged no later than the Close Of Business on the 30th November 2007.
Effective Supervision Program 2008
Enrolments are now open for the Effective Supervision Program for 2008. See the timetable and workshop information on our website at: http://www.adelaide.edu.au/graduatecentre/rep/staff/timetable.html
In Semester 1 2008 we are offering workshops on the Tuesday morning and Tuesday evening of teaching weeks 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12. The morning sessions are in regular face-to-face mode while the repeat evening sessions will be conducted online, using a University of Adelaide virtual classroom, from 4.30pm to 7.00pm.
All staff are welcome to attend all or any of these workshops.
Seminars on Research Education
November 21st, 9am to 1pm.
Next Wednesday, 21st November, participants in the Effective Supervision Program will be presenting a series of 30 minute seminars on their investigations into researcher education issues within their disciplines.
Presentations will commence at 9am and run through to around 1pm, in the Adelaide Graduate Centre, Level 6 115 Grenfell St.
All staff are very welcome to attend. Registration is not required.
HDR Supervisor Induction Workshop
All new academic staff who wish to be involved in supervising research students are required to attend the HDR Supervisor Induction Workshop. The Induction Workshop is normally offered twice a year, in the first few weeks of each semester. While the regular workshop for this semester has already been held (on August 7th and August 9th) the RED team is happy to schedule a repeat session, if there is sufficient demand.So if you would be interested in attending a Supervisor Induction Workshop later this semester, please let us know by email to researchereducation@adelaide.edu.au or by phone to x36035.

HDR Postgraduate Coordinator Workshop
From time to time the Researcher Education and Development unit facilitates workshops for HDR Postgraduate Coordinators. These workshops serve a range a needs, eg: to help new PGCs come to grips with the range of policy, admin requirements and practical challenges; to provide a forum for PGCs to share expertise and insights; to provide feedback directly to the Dean of Graduate Studies on pertinent issues.
One PGC workshop has already been held this year. The RED team is happy to convene another one later this semester, if there is sufficient demand.
