Annual Review / Re-Enrolments
All students who have returned and successfully completed an Annual Review will be automatically re-enrolled for 2008 in mid to late December, providing that they have no outstanding financial obligation to the University.
Please be aware your enrolment for 2008 will not be processed if you have not submitted your annual review by the end of November, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Graduate Centre. Changes to Rules Governing PhD, Research Masters, Professional Doctorates and Higher Doctorates
Academic Board has approved important changes to the Rules governing:
PhD
Research Masters
Professional doctorates
Higher doctorates
these will come into effect from 1 January 2008.

Evaluation Results from the Semester 2, 2007 Induction
Thank you to all students who completed an evaluation form at the semester 2 induction. The overall feedback provided by students has been positive. Planning of the next induction is currently in progress and we are looking at this feedback to ensure the program continues to meet the needs of students.

9th APRU Doctoral Students Conference
We are pleased to announce that the 9th Annual Association of Pacific Rim Universities Doctoral Students Conference (APRU DSC) will take place in the Far Eastern National University (FENU), Vladivostok, Russia, from 14 to 18 July 2008.
The FENU Organizing Committee calls for papers/panel proposals for presentations to be given at the 9th APRU DSC. The conference theme is “Leading Research for a Better Future: Pacific Scope, Global Impact”.
Doctoral students from all disciplines, including, but not limited to, the social sciences, the humanities, engineering, natural sciences, biological sciences, architectural designs, administration, and business are invited to submit an abstract and present a paper related to their doctoral research.
11th Annual, Harvard East Asia Society, Graduate Student Conference
The Harvard East Asia Society invites graduate students from all fields to present papers at the 11th Annual, Harvard East Asia Society, Graduate Student Conference, Friday, February 29 – Sunday, March 2, 2008Present your research in front of graduate students, and receive feedback from Harvard professors at the largest East Asian Studies graduate student conference in North America!
Application Guidelines:
1. Your paper or research must be related to the East Asia region (including Inner Asia).
2. Abstract limit: 500 words
3. Abstract submission deadline: December 2, 2007.

Holiday Closures
The Graduate Centre office will be closed from 5.00pm on Friday 21 December 2007, and re-open for business at 9.00am on Wednesday 2 January 2007.
The RED unit will close for over-the- counter and telephone enquiries on 21/12/2007, reopening on Monday 14/01/2008.
