Enrolling in Another Program Concurrently with my Higher Degree by Research
If you are interested in studying for another academic program at the same time as studying for a research higher degree, you will need to apply, in writing, to the Dean of Graduate Studies for permission. In considering your application, the Dean will look for evidence that you have the necessary time and commitment to undertake further study in addition to your research degree.
Note, however, that if you plan to undertake a Graduate Certificate of Science and Technology Commercialisation under the Commercialisation Training Scheme (details are outlined later in this Handbook), you are not required to make a separate application for concurrent enrolment, as the necessary approvals are incorporated into the application process.
Scholarship Holders
Scholarship holders who are granted the permission to enrol concurrently in another academic program will be restricted to a maximum of 8 hours of study per week during normal working hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm).
