The New Master of Philosophy Research Program is HereFor Australian/New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents only. It is available in every Discipline of the University and provides a single Masters level research program which will be immediately recognisable to employers and others as a benchmark of students’ standard of achievement in research. Successful completion will provide eligibility for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy. It also provides a unique opportunity for eligible students with a flexible entry pathway into this program direct from a Bachelor degree without the need to complete Honours. For further information refer to the 2010 academic program rules (pdf). From 1 January 2010 this program will supersede all named Masters by Research degrees currently available at the University of Adelaide. It will be the only Master degree at the University that meets the provisions of the Research Training Scheme (RTS). During the 2010 transition period it will still be possible for applicants to apply for a place in 2010 for a named Master by Research program in accordance with the relevant 2009 program rules. However, as the new Master of Philosophy program is the University’s preferred option, applicants are encouraged to apply for this program. Current students are advised to contact their Postgraduate Coordinator to discuss the most suitable option. Applicants with an Honours qualification will be eligible to apply for all relevant available scholarships. *PLEASE NOTE: Applications for scholarship for Master of Philosophy applicants applying for entry in 2010 on the basis of a Bachelor qualification closed on 13 November 2009 although applications for candidature only may be lodged at any time. All other applicants with an Honours or equivalent qualification may still apply for scholarship outside the major round but there is no guarantee of an award being available. The application for Admission and/or Scholarship for Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of Australia is available on the Postgraduate Scholarships Forms page of the Graduate Centre website or from below Admission and/or Scholarship (pdf) Please note that this program is not available to international students in 2010.
