RED Careers Team

  RED Research Career Programs

The Researcher Education & Development (RED) unit works with the research community at all levels, value adding to the research experience, and delivering skills and knowledge essential to research success. The Research Careers arm of the RED unit focuses in particular on the development of high level skills in research leadership, research management and research training.Grow your leadership capacity

We offer a range of face-to-face workshop programs, online resources and individual consultations. To give our work a sound theoretical and pedagogical platform, we research international best practice in the field, and publish in a broad range of areas concerned with (higher) education, language and culture.

Check out our programs below, or contact us to discuss your needs and options.

We want your comments and ideas. Let us know what you think of our programs via our feedback facility.

frlp graphicThe Future Research Leaders Program has been developed collaboratively by the Go8 universities, and seeks to build a range of skills and understandings essential for successful research leadership and research project management.
thesisThe Exploring Supervision Program aims to equip supervisors with vital understandings of the policies, practices and scholarship essential to effective supervision of research higher degree students.
Anyone who wishes to register as an HDR supervisor, in either principal or co-supervisor capacity, must attend an HDR Supervisor Induction Workshop. Held at the beginning of each semester, this workshop provides an essential introduction to the context of HDR supervision at the University.
Run early each semester, Cocktails & Connections is a relatively informal event, designed to get like-minded researchers talking to each other. It is aimed at researchers new to the university as well as established researchers looking to reinvigorate their networks.
Each semester we provide Postgraduate Coordinators Forums as well as Honours Coordinators Forums, affording an opportunity for coordinators to share their experiences and to meet with the Dean of Graduate Studies and Adelaide Graduate Centre staff.

We are happy to talk to you about constructing a researcher education session, workshop or intensive program for your particular discipline, School or other specialist area. Please contact us to discuss any possibilities that you have in mind.
