Below are just some of the questions commonly asked about scholarships
at the University of Adelaide.
Q: What scholarships can I apply for?
A: There are a wide variety of scholarships available to students at
the University of Adelaide. Scholarships open and close for application
throughout the year. The easiest way to find out which scholarships you
can apply for is by checking the Postgraduate or Undergraduate Currently
Available flyer, which lists all scholarships open for application
at that time of year. These flyers are available from the Scholarships
Notice board in the Student Centre, Level 4, Wills Building, and can also
be downloaded from this website.
Q: Who can apply for scholarships?
A: Some scholarships have particular eligibility criteria, so it is
a good idea to read the Rules of the Scholarship carefully before applying.
Such eligibility criteria might include year level of enrolment, degree
in which you are enrolled, etc. Providing you fulfil the eligibility criteria
for a particular scholarship, you are welcome to apply!
Q: I am interested in a particular scholarship. Where do I get an
application form?
A: Application forms for all scholarships are available from the Scholarships
Notice Board in the Student Centre, Level 4, Wills Building. For discipline
specific scholarships, information and application forms are also sent
to relevant Departments for distribution. Many application forms can also
be downloaded from this website. Forms are available six to eight weeks
prior to the closing date.
Q: What is the closing date for scholarships?
A: As mentioned previously, there are a number of different scholarships
available to students at the University of Adelaide. As scholarships
open and close for application throughout the year, most of the scholarships

for scholarships available, and unfortunately, some miss out. All of the
scholarships offered at Adelaide University have rigorous selection procedures
which involve close scrutiny of the applications received in order to select
the successful applicant/s. Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to contact
the Adelaide Graduate Centre to discuss their application with a Graduate
Administration and Scholarships Officer.

of Adelaide - the application for admission constitutes an application
for scholarships.

a weekly basis with scholarships as they open for application, so at any
time of the year will give you a comprehensive list of what you can apply
for at that time. These flyers can be downloaded from this website and
are also available from the Student Centre, Level 4, Wills Building.
Q: I want to study overseas. Are there any scholarships available?
A: There are scholarships available specifically to assist students
to study overseas. Most of these scholarships are available for postgraduate
study only, however some organisations offer scholarships and grants for
undergraduates to study at overseas universities. The easiest way to find
out what is available at any time of the year is to keep checking the Currently
Available flyer for your level. This website also has a number of links
to sites with information about studying overseas and potential assistance.
See our : Scholarships Links page.
Q: Do I need an honours degree to apply for postgraduate scholarships?
A: Yes; you must have completed a four year undergraduate degree or
equivalent, (at the level of an Australian First Class Honours degree or
equivalent).
Q: Does relevant work experience count in my application for postgraduate
scholarships?
A: If you were awarded your honours degree more than 12 months prior
to applying for a scholarship, relevant work experience may be taken into
account when assessing your eligibility for a scholarship.
If you do not have an honours degree, but have several years of relevant
work experience, usually combined with some kind of postgraduate study
or publications, then the work experience may be taken into account when
assessing your eligibility for a scholarship.
If you are completing your honours degree in the year in which you
are applying work experience will not be considered.
