Australian Rotary Health is Australia's largest non-government funding body of mental illness research. We also fund research in other health related areas.

The genesis of Australian Rotary Health in 1981 was the mystery of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The Late Ian Scott, from the Rotary Club of Mornington, established Australian Rotary Health to support research into SIDS. As Australian Rotary Health grew so did the vision of medical research possibilities. Supported by Rotarians Australian wide, Australian Rotary Health was soon in a position to sponsor health research in areas that did not readily attract funding.

Australian Rotary Health has a broad vision of health. We are a catalyst for projects that improve the quality of life for people who are least able to assist themselves.

Current status: Applications open

The Lirabenda Endowment Fund has been established by the Field Naturalists Society of South Australia Inc. [FNSSA].

Since its foundation in 1883 as the Field Naturalists Section of the Royal Society of South Australia and now as an autonomous organization, the FNSSA has had amongst its aims the promotion of the study and diffusion of knowledge relating to the natural sciences. It promotes the conservation of natural features and habitat and the preservation of the native flora and fauna of Australia and in particular South Australia. More recently the FNSSA has been the owner of several nature reserves.

The Lirabenda Endowment Fund was established in August 2005 with the proceeds of the sale of one of these properties, Lirabenda, near Mylor. One of the aims of the Fund is to encourage and promote research into the biota and natural environment of South Australia and it is pleased to offer research grants to further this aim.

Applications are invited from any person engaged in research which fits the criteria for selection but are especially encouraged from research institutions for supervised project funding at the Honours and Master degree and Ph. D. levels and for projects conducted by researchers at South Australian Research Institutes.
