The PHCRED program has become a core activity of The Discipline of General Practice (DGP) at University of Adelaide, with a variety of activities being undertaken. The PHCRED program offers Research Opportunties through the
In addition, the PHCRED program provides
- Capacity building workshops in research methodology (Calendar)
- Writing groups within the Discipline (monthly meetings)
A PHCRED Advisory Committee consisting of representatives from a broad range of primary health care disciplines provides advice, and acts as a recruitment and dissemination avenue for PHCRED opportunities and results.
The research capacity within the DGP had been enhanced through the employment of a Director, a Co-ordinator, a statistician and an administration assistant. Links with a variety of general practice and primary health care organisations have also been established. Research Training has been a priority for the Department and we have both sponsored a variety of participants at courses held by other institutions and undertaken a series of Workshops ourselves. This has provided the opportunity for both developing skills and relationships with the organisations of the participants.
We also support the Tri-State PHCRED Collaboration SA, NT and VIC including the PHCRED programs at Flinders University (in SA, VIC and NT), Spencer Gulf Rural Health School, and University of Adelaide. For more information about the PHCRED collaboration go to: http://www.phcred-sa.org.au
