All staff (other than casuals) are entitled to the following provisions. Part-time staff will accrue leave on a pro-rata basis. 4.3 Compassionate Leave4.3.1 You (excluding casual staff) are entitled to a maximum of three (3) paid days of compassionate leave for each occasion when a member of your family, or a member of your household: a) contracts or develops a personal illness that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or 4.3.2 You may take compassionate leave if the leave is taken: a) for the purpose of spending time with a member of your family or household who has contracted or developed the personal illness, or sustained the personal injury; or a) a single continuous period of three (3) days; or 4.3.4 Unpaid Compassionate Leave (including casual staff) a) You are entitled to a maximum of three (3) unpaid days of compassionate leave for each occasion when a member of your family, or a member of your household: i. contracts or develops a personal illness that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or b) You may take unpaid compassionate leave if the leave is taken: i. for the purpose of spending time with a member of your family or household who has contracted or developed the personal illness, or sustained the personal injury; or c) You may take unpaid compassionate leave as: i. a single continuous period of three (3) days; or Notice a) If you intend to apply for leave as described in this clause you must: i. Advise your supervisor as soon as is reasonably practicable (which may be a time after the leave has started); and Evidence a) If you access leave as described in this clause, you are required to provide a medical certificate from a registered health practitioner, or a statutory declaration or other documentation that is acceptable to the University. |
