Frequently Asked Questions
1. How much leave do I have accrued?Leave details are available on your online payslip. The End Balance shows the current leave balance which is recorded in hours. This balance does not take into account future leave booked. A standard working day is 7.35 hours however part time staff members standard day may vary (refer to your part time working pattern). When calculating the number of days available, the End Balance should be divided by the total hours per day. Long Service Leave can not be utilised until seven years of continuous service have been completed. 2. I have forgotten my ESO password to access my payslips on-line. How do I have it reissued?You will need to go to Card Services which is located on Hughes Plaza adjacent to BankSA. You must take proof of your identity with you in order for your password to be reset. The Card Services staff member will log you in to a reset page so you can enter the new password information yourself. Card Services will not enter passwords on your behalf. 3. How can I view my payslips?You are able to view and print your own payslips via Employee Services Online (ESO). The information available on the online payslips is identical to the information available on printed payroll payslips. 4. Why hasn’t my new contract/payment been paid yet?Many factors affect the delay in payment of both casual and ongoing/fixed term staff. You will need to determine the following: Casuals

5. When can I expect my Payment Summary?Payment Summaries must be issued by the 14th of July each year in accordance with ATO regulations. These are posted to your home/mailing address. Please ensure that you update your address prior to the end of financial year to avoid any delays in receiving your payment summary. Please refer to question 9 in regards to changing your address details. If you require a duplicate copy please send an email request. Payment Summaries are only issued if taxable monies were earned in the financial year. 6. What are the on-costs for this payment?To calculate on-costs please see the on-cost calculator spreadsheet. 7. How can I update my tax details and where can I get the necessary forms?A Withholding Tax Declaration Form must be completed with your new instructions and forwarded to Human Resources. This must be received at Human Resources prior to the paydate cut-off in order to effect your next payment. These forms are available from Human Resources or by contacting the Australian Tax Office. If you have any questions in regards to this form and what you should claim please contact the Australian Tax Office for assistance. 8. How do I change my bank account details?In order to change banking details you must complete a Banking Authority form. Once you have completed the form it must be forwarded to Human Resources prior to the paydate cut-offs to take effect for the next available paydate. Any details submitted will take effect in all positions held within the University (including scholarship payments made through Human Resources). This will also override any previous advice. These details can also be updated by emailing your information to Employee Services. 9. How do I change my address?The Change of Name/Address form is available on the Human Resources website. Please insure that you also update your mailing address details if these have also changed. Once Human Resources updates your address details, the form will then be forwarded onto the Superannuation Office in order for your address to be updated in their records. These details can also be updated by emailing your information to Employee Services. 10. How can I estimate my take home pay if my salary changes?Please refer to the ATO website for the salary calculator. Please note that this calculator will not take into account any deductions being taken from your salary, such as superannuation. |
