Superannuation

The University of Adelaide, like all employers, is required to make superannuation contributions on behalf of all its employees. The University of Adelaide makes this contribution to the UniSuper Award Plus Plan at the rate of 9%.

Continuing (or permanent) staff and staff with a contract of 2 years or more may also become members of the UniSuper Defined Benefit or Investment Choice Plan. Under this scheme employees are required to contribute 7% of their salary in addition to a 14% contribution made by the University. The University will also continue to contribute 3% to the UniSuper Award Plus Plan.

Through Salary Packaging it is possible to arrange for your superannuation contributions to be salary sacrificed to minimise the tax liability on your take home pay.
