Managing Inappropriate Behaviour in the Workplace - A Program for Staff

Program Overview

When we fume inwardly about the behaviour of others, while outwardly tolerating inappropriate behaviour, we are teaching others that they can get away with treating us in an unprofessional manner. Stop fuming and be assertive. You'll be surprised at how much taking the small risk of addressing the behaviours can lighten your stress level, ensure that you are treated appropriately, and ultimately improve your working relationships.

Learning Outcomes

  • Overview of the University's expectations regarding appropriate behaviour (code of conduct, etc).
  • Identify the line between inappropriate and appropriate behaviours.
  • Build the confidence and capability to challenge inappropriate behaviour.
  • Learn how to manage the physiological and emotional impacts of inappropriate behaviour, as well as putting inappropriate behaviour in perspective.

Who should attend?

Staff who want to improve their skills in dealing with inappropriate behaviour in the workplace.
