Planning, Development and Review (PDR) for Managers

Program Overview

PDR enables an ongoing focus on work objectives and helps to plan for the resources and development required to make them possible.

Importantly, PDR is also about enhancing communication and providing ongoing feedback around performance.

This interactive workshop will give you useful techniques to help guide and coach your staff through PDR, and help you to carry out ongoing effective performance and development conversations.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this four hour workshop, you will have the tools to help you to:

  • Understand PDR at the University, including roles and responsibilities
  • Develop work objectives, performance indicators and development plans
  • Prepare for holding an effective PDR discussion, as well as practise core conversation skills
  • Practise giving and receiving meaningful feedback
  • Identify strategies and techniques for engaging staff
