Staff-related Equity and Diversity Issues

Advice and assistance can be sought from the Equity Project Officer on staff equity and diversity issues relating to:

• equity in recruitment, selection, promotion and management
• discrmination and harassment
• the Fair Treatment Policy
• the Gender, Equity and Diversity (GED) Committee
• equity training.

Support for staff with disability issues is available from the Staff Disability Consultant and support with disability access issues is available from Learning & Disability Access.

General issues relating to recruitment, selection and promotion, flexible work conditions and all forms of leave are dealt with by members of the Employee Services Team in Human Resources.

The Workforce Planning & Strategy Team is available to provide a consultancy for any University manager or supervisor on a range of employment related issues including workplace and employee relations and staff complaints.

Information on handling student complaints is available from the Student Centre's Student Complaints and Appeals page.

Support in regard to helping indigenous students is available from the Centre for Australian Indigenous Research and Studies (Wilto Yerlo).

Support in dealing with student disability issues is available from the Disability Liaison Officer.

Support with issues of cross-cultural diversity International Student Centre.

Cross-cultural awareness training is provided by the Centre for Learning and Professional Development.
