UPP Market ResearchProject Team Rupert Irudayaraj Project Outline Develop a University Preparation Program (UPP) for students from non traditional-community segments, seeking to study at the tertiary level. The project is designed to obtain information from the various groups to develop a program to meet their needs and increase the likelihood of successful tertiary study School/Branch DVC (A) Professional and Continuing Education Attracting Female High school Students to Study MathematicsProject Team Associate Professor Inge Koch Project Outline The project is an attempt at increasing the percentage of women in mathematics by starting at the level of high school students who make choices about university degrees. The project includes workshops for Maths teachers and talented female high school students about the study of mathematics. Also includes 2 x $2000 scholarships for female students. School/Branch School of Mathematical Sciences Assisting students from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds: Towards Practical SolutionsProject Team Dr Damien Riggs Project Outline The project will investigate any difficulties experiences by students from Non English Speaking Backgrounds (NESB) experienced at the University and discuss with the students difficulties that could be addressed. School/Branch School of Psychology A Needs Assessment of the support requirements for mid to late canditure International Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students from Non English Speaking Backgrounds (NESB) (who have been in Australia for less than 10 years) in the Faculty of Health Sciences.Project Team Associate Professor Annette Braunack Mayer Project Outline This project will map the supports available to NESB students, identify the gaps and propose policies and procedures at a Faculty level to meet the needs of NESB students. School/Branch Faculty of Health Sciences Financial Health and Wellbeing for WomenProject Team Sonya Perkins Project Outline A Financial Empowerment Series for Women including presentations, workshops and web-resources focused on financial literacy. School/Branch Women's Professional Development Network (WPDN)/ Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) First Generation Program 2010Project Team Jen Hill Project Outline This project will provide an opportunity for Indigenous High School students from Ceduna and Port Augusta to travel by bus to the University of Adelaide to participate in the First Generation 2 day Program 2010 School/Branch Prospective Students Office/ Student Services |
