Fostering inclusiveness and equity
Specific training programs and multicultural resources will empower staff and students to take responsibility for their role in fostering an inclusive and respectful environment. The following cultural awareness training providers were recommended to the University by Multicultural South Australia to support the empowerment of staff and students:- Australian Refugee Association – Cultural Competency Training and Community Profile Workshops Web site: http://www.australianrefugee.org/services/ara-training/ Cultural Diversity Services Pty Ltd – specialised consulting, training, research and development services in diversity management, cultural competence and cross-cultural communication. Web site: http://www.robertbeanconsulting.com.au/ Migrant Resource Centre of South Australia – Registered Training Organisation – delivering cultural awareness training. Web site: http://www.mrcsa.com.au/ Multicultural Youth SA – Cultural Awareness Training – increase the capacity of organisations to work more effectively with migrant and refugee young people and their communities. Web site: http://www.mysa.com.au/ University of South Australia – School of Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy – training, development and consultancy in the area of cultural competency.
