Policies and Legislation

The University of Adelaide has a number of policies that promote equity and diversity and comply with State and Federal equal opportunity and human rights legislation:

  • Fair Treatment Policy
    Covers issues of bullying, discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, racism and vilification. For further information about the Policy see the Fair Treatment section of this website.

  • Fair Treatment Guidelines for Staff
    These guidelines provide clarification on the practical application of the University’s Fair Treatment Policy and should be read in conjunction with it. Complaints relating to the Fair Treatment Policy that involve staff are handled through the Complaints by Staff Policy and Guidelines.

  • Student Grievance Resolution Process
    These guidelines provide clarification on the practical application of the University’s Fair Treatment Policy in relation to student behaviour and complaints. They should be read in conjunction with the Policy.

  • Complaints by Staff Policy and Guidelines
    The Complaints by Staff Policy allows the University to deal with complaints from staff members about the behaviour of other staff members, or matters that adversely affect their ability to work productively in a positive environment.

  • Code of Conduct
    The Code of Conduct is intended to guide University of Adelaide staff and titleholders to identify issues of ethical conduct that may arise in their employment or association with the University.

  • Close Personal Relationships Policy
    The policy provides the University’s position on staff-student relationships and staff-staff relationships in regard to potential conflict of interest.
