Equity in Recruitment Training

The Recruitment Policy requires that 30 per cent of recruitment and selection committee members, including the Convenor, receive Equity in Recruitment training. The policy also sets a number of goals for increasing the diversity of the University of Adelaide's staff profile.

Equity in Recruitment training is delivered to your Faculty/Division at your request by the Equity Project Officer who will deliver the training. The session is approximately two hours duration and covers:

• links between recruitment of staff and the strategic directions of your area
• diverse recruitment strategies to ensure the widest possible search for talent
• evidence based decision-making in the selection of staff
• ideas on how to deal with tricky situations involving equity issues.

The pre-requisite for attendance is completion of the EO Online training module.

Heads of Schools/Areas are asked to ensure that those who regularly convene or sit on recruitment and selection committees undertake equity training.
