Induction Process for Supervisors

All supervisors with new staff are required to complete a local induction using the Local Induction Templates. New staff members can find information about their role in the induction process here.

Local Induction Templates

The Local Induction Templates provide supervisors with information about all stages of induction, including the minimum corporate requirements of induction and also detail their responsibilities, as the supervisor, for probation under the Enterprise Agreement. These are templates only and are able to be customised to your Department/School.

Staff on Continuing or Fixed-term contracts

Staff on Casual contracts

Staff returning from extended leave of absence or transferring from another School/Branch, Short term staff, consultants, contractors and service providers need to be taken through the HSW Local Induction Record. The same process can be used for volunteers.

Supervisors

  • Download the appropriate local induction template above.
  • Prepare for your new staff member to commence, following Stage 1 (Before the New Staff Member Commences) to Stage 6 (Finalising Induction) as outlined in the templates.
  • Ensure a copy of the local induction template is signed by the incumbent (and Supervisor). Attach this to the Probation form, when received from HR (at end of probationary period). Retain a signed copy of the local induction template for your records.
