Role Statement for Associate Dean (International)
The Associate Dean reports to the Executive Dean. The role is to be performed in such a way as to make an effective contribution to internationalisation within the Faculty in accordance with the University’s and Faculty’s strategic plans.
The key responsibilities of the Associate Dean shall include:
- Membership of the following Committees:
- The Faculty Board
- The University Internationalisation Committee.
- Executive Dean’s Advisory Committee.
- Coordinate the marketing of Faculty programs through the International Office.
- Represent the Faculty at international student recruitment activities and/or enlist help of appropriate Faculty personnel.
- Liaise with:
- The Faculty administrator responsible for marketing and recruitment on matters affecting international students.
- School Heads on articulation credits, international recruitment and academic matters.
- The Faculty administrator responsible for academic matters.
- The PVC(I) on University international matters.
- In conjunction with the Executive Dean and Faculty administrator responsible for academic matters, work with the Faculty administrator, marketing and recruitment in the marketing of international activities and the processing of applications.
- Coordinate and monitor collaborative agreements with international universities to promote Faculty linkages, exchange and recruitment of students.
- In conjunction with the International office, facilitate exchanges where appropriate, and provide advice to students on opportunities for completing parts of their program overseas at a partner university.
- Assist in developing Faculty policy with respect to international student matters.
- Take a proactive role in assisting the Executive Dean to develop and implement the Faculty Strategic Plan.
- Other duties or projects as reasonably assigned by the Executive Dean.
