Central to the development and delivery of excellence in teaching and research are the staff of the University of Adelaide. To effectively implement University plans, the people management and policy issues need to be considered. New HR initiatives, which support the future directions of the University, can be identified, developed into projects and articulated as policy.

Staff Profile
This study provides an indication of what the demographic profile of the staff of the University of Adelaide will be by the year 2011 if rates of attrition continue at current levels and those staff remaining are ‘aged’ by 5 years. The projections do not take account of any replacement or recruitment in order to indicate the scale of the recruitment and retention tasks facing the university. It also identifies the age groups that are most likely to leave and profiles the significant age heaping of more mature staff.
