Christmas Close Down and Payroll Processing Arrangements 2011

The University will close down during the Christmas break from close of business Friday 23 December 2011 to Monday 2 January 2012 inclusive. Staff not taking additional annual leave during this period will return to work on Tuesday 3 January 2012.

Public Holidays

The public holidays to be observed during this period are:

Monday 26 December 2011 (Christmas Day holiday transferred from Sunday 25 December 2011)

Tuesday 27 December 2011 (Proclamation Day holiday transferred from Monday, 26 December 2011)

Wednesday 28 December 2011 (University Holiday)

Monday 2 January 2012 (New Years Day holiday transferred from Sunday, 1 January 2012)

Annual Leave Deduction

Annual leave will be deducted from staff credits for Thursday 29 December 2011 and Friday 30 December 2011 (excluding academic staff employed by the former SACAE and Roseworthy Agricultural College at the time of the merger). Staff wishing to make alternative arrangements for these days (e.g. taking time off accrued in lieu of overtime) must submit their request through their Supervisor. All requests must be submitted by the Supervisor to hrservicecentre@adelaide.edu.au by Friday 2 December 2011.

Close Down Arrangements

Where staff are rostered for duty during the close down period, Supervisors should forward an email notification of staff required to work to hrservicecentre@adelaide.edu.au by Friday 2 December 2011.

Payroll Processing Arrangements for End of Year 2011

All variations to payroll must reach Human Resources by 12:00 noon of the dates as set out in the table below. Anticipation of casual hours up to and including Friday 2 December 2011 (for payment on 16 December) and Friday 16 December 2011 (for payment on 30 December 2011) is allowed providing the School/Area takes responsibility for all monies paid.

All variations to payroll reach Human Resources by 12:00 noon, Tuesday 3 January 2012.
