Fume Extraction Test Results

To ensure the occupational health, safety and welfare of staff and students of the University of Adelaide, regular tests are carried out on our fume cupboards (FC), fume hoods and exhaust systems.

Viewing the Test Results

Instructions for Compliance Test Database

  1. Adjust your Display settings, via the Control Panel to 1024 x 768 pixels (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings)
  2. Download the required fume cupboard test results (see instructions below).
  3. Open Compliance Test Database Viewer from your Start menu (listed as Zoom Software). You may need to resize the window.
  4. Select ‘Import Tests’ from the File menu.
  5. On the far right of the page click on the button ‘Select File To Import’. Browse your computer to locate the fume cupboard test results you have saved to your hard disk.
  6. Change the dates ‘From’ and ‘To’ to include the dates of the test results.
  7. Click on the button ‘Import Tests’ at the bottom right of your screen.
  8. The test results will then appear and you can select specific fume cupboards to view. Scroll through the results and print if necessary.
  9. When you have exited the Viewer readjust your Display settings to 800 x 600 pixels.

Below is a list of current test results (March 2006).

Download Instructions

  1. Right click the file under 'Locations' and select Save Target As or Save Link As (this will depend on your browser)
  2. A window will then appear. Ensure All Files is selected in the drop down menu Save as Type. The file should have the file extension *.fct
  3. Save the file on your hard disk (tip: copy and save in your 'documents' folder).
