Inductees will be asked for their username and password:

• the username is the same as your email username (e.g. a1234567)
• the password is also the same as for email.

If staff have difficulty with access to a computer or prefer to work with a hard copy, they can download the course in PDF format, complete the quizzes and return them to the OH&S Unit.

About the Course

After logging on, select the 'Course Information' button and you will be guided through a step-by-step learning process involving the completion of modules. These can be completed over a period, as time permits. The course is competency based and there are quizzes for some modules.

Once all modules have all been completed a certificate can be printed.

New staff will still require induction into the occupational health and safety hazards and other issues that are specific to their particular work area.

Responsibilities

Managers and supervisors are urged to ensure that all new staff complete the online OH&S induction course during their probation. Completion of the course by existing staff (who have not received any recent OH&S training, e.g. as Health and Safety representatives or other recognised short courses for managers and supervisors, etc) is an effective strategy for ensuring their employees have undertaken basic OH&S training.

All new employees are automatically given access to the induction program. However if existing staff require access this can be arranged by contacting the Occupational Health & Safety Unit.
