Performance Excellence
Performance Excellence is a key initiative of the
University of Adelaide Strategic Plan, which aims to support the University's
culture of excellence and continual improvement.
The Performance Excellence Framework is a suite of best practice performance
management approaches designed to develop the capabilities of individuals and
align performance outcomes with the objectives set out in the University of
Adelaide Strategic Plan.
The Framework includes:
- A revised Planning, Development and Review process and guidelines
- Guidelines for recognising and rewarding achievements
- An improved Position Description Template for Professional staff
- A guide to managing performance improvement
For further information on Performance Excellence, staff should direct enquiries
to their supervisor. Managers can direct enquiries to the Program
Manager or HR Consultant.

The Performance Excellence Vision explores our commitment to performance
planning and it's contribution to the University's long term growth and
sustainability.
|
|
The Reward and Recognition Guidelines aim to support a culture which
recognises and rewards achievement and exceptional performance that is
aligned with the University's goals, values and vision.
|
|
Position Descriptions replace the former Duty Statements for Professional
staff. The revised Position Description are objective based, and can be
used for recruitment, development, PDR discussions and classification
reviews.
The Planning, Development and Review process enables the alignment of
work with organisational outcomes. It provides an opportunity to discuss
the resource requirements needed to achieve work objectives, and individual
career aspirations and development needs.
|
|
The Managing Performance Improvement Guide provides guidance on how to
prepare for, develop and implement plans that assist staff to improve
their performance.
Planning, Development and Review Workshops have been developed to support
the implementation of the revised framework. All managers and staff are
encouraged to attend one of the workshops to be held during the remainder
of 2008.
