Responsibility Loading

The University can pay a loading to a staff member in recognition of them undertaking duties that are beyond their existing role and classification.

A responsibility loading:

• should be for a specified period and reviewed regularly to test that the circumstances are still valid
• may be superannuable depending on advice from the superannuation office and with final approval from the supervisor/manager
• will be paid as salary with income tax deducted as appropriate. Salary sacrifice to UniSuper (Award Plus Plan) of the total loading on a regular fortnightly basis is optional.
