Casual RecruitmentThe University utilises casual employment where work is to be performed on an ad hoc basis over an undefined and normally short period (not usually longer than 6 months). Casual staff members are paid by the hour, receive a loading and can be engaged on a full-time or part-time basis. Please refer to the Policy & Guidelines to ensure you are up to date with the current processes for casual employment. Casual Staff RegisterThe University has a register of casual staff that Faculties and Divisions can use to locate suitable casual employees. Each registration includes a detailed form outlining the type of work the person is seeking, hours available, qualifications etc, and a resumé. Many of the people registered have experience working at the University. The register is currently in hard copy file format and located in Human Resources. For further details, please contact Human Resources, or if you wish to employ a student, please access the Adelaide University Union website. External ConsultantsUse of an external recruiter may improve the quality of the selection process. However, the responsibility for meeting the University of Adelaide policy requirements, for appropriate conduct of the process and for the final solution decision rests with the relevant manager. The University does not currently have a preferred supplier panel for recruitment agencies and as such does not advocate the use of specific recruitment suppliers.
