How Can We Help You?

Information Services is the 'front door' to the University and will be an initial point of contact and first port of call for students. It is a one-stop, one step service for all student information queries. We can assist with all online services and applications.

We have campus maps, program and course information brochures, computers for general use and printing. We can help set up your wireless connections and follow you printing services. We can assist you with the use of the informal learning spaces with ongoing student-focussed support. If we don't have the answer, we know someone who does!

For students Hub Central will:

  1. Have staff who are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and proactive in their approach, and who take a case management approach to student issues to make sure they are resolved.
  2. Have staff who are committed to providing an environment where students feel they are welcomed and that they belong to the University, by developing a partnership between staff and students.
  3. Provide services that are delivered efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Provide an environment that will look and work differently at different times of the year, to reflect student needs as the academic year progresses.
  5. Provide learning environments that are flexible and adaptable to facilitate different learning styles and needs.
  6. Present an opportunity for casual employment as part of the Hub Service Team.

Students have indicated that the face-to-face delivery of services is important, but at the same time they want more choice regarding how and when they access services. One of the key service provision objectives was to provide a place where students can go to receive advice and assistance without having to visit numerous areas across the campus to resolve their issues.

The adopting of a 'One Stop, One Step' approach builds on our existing service delivery models, where staff in the Hub will endeavour to provide information, advice and services requested by students referring them only when specialist advice or information is required and not accessible on line. Case management will enable staff to ensure that referred student queries are resolved. The environment of Hub Central will allow staff to not only operate from behind a counter, but to also to circulate amongst students, as well as from centrally located desks (in the blue zone). Staff will be utilising all of the Hub facilities to sit alongside students and provide information, advice and assistance wherever needed in the space.
