The Graduate Diploma in Global Wealth Management will provide the foundation for those who wish to pursue a career in the rapidly growing field of wealth management and financial planning.

Wealth management for high net worth individuals is a rapidly growing area both in Australia and Asia with increased demand for professionals who can offer advice in financial planning, wealth management and private banking.

The University of Adelaide and the International Centre for Financial Services (ICFS) offer a Graduate Diploma of Wealth Management program, which upon completion will allow graduates to apply for advanced standing for the technical units of the CFP Certification Program in Australia. For further information about entry pathways to CFP certification from FPA Australia.

Students who have graduated from a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree or professional award (examples include an MBA, Master degree, Bachelor of Economics/Finance/Commerce) may be eligible to enrol for the Graduate Diploma of Global Wealth Management and complete the program in 6 months and receive status for foundation courses.  The full program involves a minimum of 12 months study.

The compulsory ICFS courses are delivered in executive style intensive mode by academics and industry practitioners.  Each course involves two intensive weekend sessions (Friday and Saturdays), spaced over a two month period.  This is followed by an examination.  Foundation courses are offered over a semester, trimester or term basis, with weekly seminars.

Study Plan

There are three components to the Graduate Diploma program; the 4 foundation courses, the 3 compulsory graduate diploma courses and one elective.

There are also two options that students can follow for the foundation courses of the Graduate Diploma.  You may either elect to take courses from the 'Master of Commerce' (MCom), or the 'Master of Business Administration' (MBA).  Students must, however, meet the MBA entry requirements to take the MBA courses. This usually implies having two years work experience at a managerial level.
