Biography/Background
John is a Principal of AT Kearney (global management consultants) having joined in 2011 as a specialist in the financial services practice for the Asian region.
He joined the financial services industry in 1970 and has held a variety of executive roles in operations, product development, marketing, distribution, corporate strategy and public policy.
Prior to his current role he was Deputy CEO of the Financial Services Council (FSC) for seven years. In 1992 John was appointed Head of Strategy and Project Officer for the ASX. In 1994 he joined AMP where he was appointed Head of Retail Strategy for Australian and New Zealand.
In 1999 he moved to the UK with AMP, where he was appointed Director of Retail Strategy. Then in 2002 he became Director of Strategy for AMP International where he was responsible for Virgin Direct, Cogent, AMP Banking as well as European and Asian activities.
John served as the inaugural Chair of the University's International Centre for Financial Services (ICFS). He holds a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries (CSA) and a Fellow of the Financial Securities Institute of Australia (Finsia).
