Invitation to Address AusIMM Event

Professor of decision making, economics and risk analysis Steve Begg was a keynote speaker at the AusIMM conference, Project Evaluation 2012: Dealing with Uncertainty in Melbourne this May.

The AusIMM represents more than 11,000 individuals working in the global minerals industry. The organisation is focussed towards excellence across all professional disciplines including advocacy and the provision of continuing professional development opportunities.

Professor Begg addressed the May 24-25 conference on "Reliability of Expert Judgements and Uncertainty Assessments" which was his subject as a Society of Petroleum Engineers Distinguished Lecturer in 2011.

He was invited to AusIMM to highlight general psychological findings regarding the ability of experts to assess uncertainty and to communicate learning from the oil and gas sector.

Project Evaluation 2012 is the third conference in a developing series of conferences (2007 and 2009).
