Australian School of Petroleum's major contribution to American Association of Petroleum Geologists International Conference and Exhibition
This year's American Association of Petroleum Geologists International Conference and Exhibition was held in Singapore in September and Australian School of Petroleum staff played a key role in developing the conference's technical program. Attendance at the conference was the fourth highest ever behind Perth, Rio and Milan and the high quality and diverse technical program was a major factor in attracting delegates.
Professor John Kaldi (Institute for Mineral Energy Resources, Australian School of Petroleum) co-chaired the conference technical program and also presented a Short Course on Evaluating Reservoir Quality, Seal Potential and Net Play (SEAPAX). Dr Mark Tingay was also involved in the conference development as Conference Technical Program Assistant.
Australian School of Petroleum staff also chaired numerous sessions including those covering igneous rocks and processes in petroleum systems, carbon capture and geological storage and managing risk and uncertainty. Australian School of Petroleum staff contributed to nine oral presentations and three posters on a range of topics, including the CO2CRC Otway Project - a world-leading project on carbon capture and storage.
