Our Centres
IMER seeks to build strong research collaborations and make significant, measurable advances through a range of linked approaches. Through value adding to existing Centres and Programs IMER is developing research areas which are new to the University of Adelaide.
The established Centres are:
The Centre for Energy Technology (CET)
CET delivers innovative technologies for a clean energy future through strategic partnerships with industry and government. CET's key research areas include combustion and fluid mechanics, renewable energy integration, energy efficiency, alternative fuels, wind energy and physical chemistry. Find out more
South Australian Centre for Geothermal Energy Research
(SACGER) investigates enhanced (engineered) geothermal systems and power systems to improve the economic and environmental delivery of geothermal energy. SACGER researchers are prioritising delivering outcomes in geophysical tools, fluid rock interactions, fracture modelling and custal stress characterisation. Find out more
The Centre for Tectonics, Resources and Exploration (TRaX)
TRaX sheds light on the evolving earth and its resource potential. Research expertise aids understanding of South Australia's unique geological characteristics which can be applied to global mineral and resource challenges. Research priority areas within TRaX include lithosphere evolutio n, geofluids, regolith and landscape evolution, tectonics and metallogeny, geophysical exploration and minerals, microbes and solutions.
