World First Operation To Repair Heart
A University of Adelaide cardiologist has saved the life of a 70-year-old Adelaide
woman after performing the world's first operation to repair a tear in her heart.
Prof Stephen Worthley, from the Discipline
of Medicine and the Cardiovascular Research Centre, used a combination of
medical imaging, catheters, and a butterfly-shaped plug to fix the tear which
normally leads to fatal blood loss within seconds.

Course Evaluation Questionnaire (CEQ) & Graduate Destination Survey

CEQ & GDS results for University of Adelaide in 2006 are available through
the Data Warehouse
You should all now be aware that in the 2007 Learning and Teaching Performance
Fund (LTPF) the University of Adelaide was successful in getting extra funding of $1.34 million.
This funding is directly linked to the results of the CEQ and GDS survey data
from 2005.
Next year, the LTPF grows to more than $100 million, which means that the CEQ
and GDS survey results continue to be important.
The Data Warehouse has been updated with the results from the 2006 CEQ & GDS
survey round, which means that University of Adelaide information is available
for 2004, 2005 and 2006.
The benchmark information for all Australian universities is expected to arrive
in the next month or so, and will then be loaded into the Data Warehouse.
Standard reports on the CEQ and GDS are available to all staff at: www.adelaide.edu.au/sp/data_warehouse/
