Rudd leadership on sorry carries opinion
Australians are more likely to accept the national apology to the Stolen Generations because of the leadership on the issue from the Federal Government, research has found. Professor Martha Augoustinos and Associate Professor Amanda LeCouteur, School of Psychology of the University of Adelaide, began studying the public debate into a possible apology following the 1997 release of the report into the Stolen Generations. Their research has revealed strong leadership on reconciliation issues could make a difference to public opinion.
