Uni in the NewsUni formula may increase pregnancy ratesPregnancy rates through fertility treatment could be doubled with a new procedure undergoing trials at the University of Adelaide. Researchers from the Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology have devised a new formula to significantly improve embryo implantation rates and reduce pregnancy complications in assisted reproductive technology (ART). Early trials involving mice have been encouraging and show the treatment could double pregnancy rates. Associate Professor Claire Roberts has been awarded $294,750 by the Federal Government to demonstrate that the treatment is safe and improves pregnancy outcomes and the postnatal health of babies. If successful, the concept will then proceed to human trials.
