Dr Wei Zeng DECRA Award 2024

Congratulations to IPAS member Dr Wei Zeng awarded a DECRA Fellowship valued at $389k in the Discovery Early Career Researcher Award 2024 round 1.

His DECRA will use existing underground optical fibre cables to listen for cracks and water leaks in water mains using a photonics technique called Distributed Acoustic Sensing. The result will be a low-cost and ready-made distributed sensing system that protects critical water supplies.
