Student Cadetship Program

Information Technology Services (ITS) has established the Student Cadetship Program to allow students currently studying at The University of Adelaide to enhance their studies and contribute to the support of IT in the organisation. With the continuing need to provide excellent support for the University's IT Services to students and staff, this program was initially developed to support the Online Education Helpdesk, but the program proved so successful that student cadets now work throughout ITS.

To our knowledge, this is the first program of its kind in Australia. It has been modelled on existing programs that are well established at Universities in the United States (for example, the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee). The program has many benefits to offer students of the University, both those that gain employment and skills in the program and those that have access to improved student services that only fellow students can offer. The program also improves graduate employment opportunities.
