Frequently Asked QuestionsHow do I become a cadet? Students should be aware that the University is an equal opportunity employer and an EOWA Employer of Choice for Women. I'm an Arts student, surely you need to be studying Engineering or Computer Science to become a cadet? Student cadets come from almost all the faculties of the University, including students studying Arts, Law, Commerce along with Engineering and Computer Science and most cadetship positions only require basic computer skills (familiarity with word processing and the Internet). If you managed to navigate to this website, it's likely that you have the basic skills you need to apply for a cadetship position. Also, the cadetship progam can give useful experience to students regardless of their degree. In fact, this provides a unique opportunity for students studying a different degree to gain invaluable knowledge and practical business experience in information technology. How are the hours I have worked as a Cadet recorded? As a student on the Cadetship Program, am I entitled to recreation and sick leave?
As a student on the Cadetship Program, am I entitled to superannuation? What do I need to do if I wish to leave the program? Do I need to be an undergraduate student to apply for a cadetship? |
